"Happy Valley" is a British television drama series that premiered in 2014. The show was created by Sally Wainwright, who is known for other acclaimed British dramas such as "Last Tango in Halifax" and "Gentleman Jack."

The series is set in the town of Calder Valley in West Yorkshire, England, and stars Sarah Lancashire as Catherine Cawood (we LOVE Catherine!), a strong-willed police sergeant who is struggling to come to terms with the death of her daughter. As Catherine tries to rebuild her life, she becomes embroiled in a complex and dangerous case involving a serial killer, Tommy Lee Royce.

"Happy Valley" has been praised for its gritty and realistic portrayal of police work, as well as its exploration of themes such as grief, family, and social class. The show has also been noted for its strong female characters, including Catherine and her sister Clare (played by Siobhan Finneran). The series has been critically acclaimed and has won multiple awards, including a BAFTA for Best Drama Series in 2015.
